Transnet + Design Institute = Moving Ideas 2015 // Call for ENTRIES!!

The Moving Ideas Competition is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and businesses to bring their innovative new ideas to life. If you have an idea for an exciting new product or service, Transnet invites you to enter the Moving Ideas Competition.

The Moving Ideas Competition encourages black-owned companies particularly previously disadvantaged persons, women, youth and people with disabilities to enter.

The Moving Ideas Competition is open for entries from 15 September 2015 to 15 October 2015 and invites entrepreneurs, researchers, inventors, businesses and innovators to submit their ideas. The Moving Ideas Competition is looking for innovative ideas that could contribute to operational efficiency, productivity, safety and eco-innovations across Transnet’s operational divisions (Freight Rail, Engineering, National Ports Authority, Port Terminals and Pipelines), the rural development sector and/or South Africa at large.

The competition is open for entries from 15 September 2015 to 15 October 2015. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. 


Top 50 finalists will receive a developmental award valued at R90 000.

Top 20 winners will receive business development support valued at R400 000.

Top 5 export ready companies will be invited to participate in an international trade linkage.
