The Lights from LuMen are shining brighter than ever

We’ve written about LuMen last year when they launched their first couple of lights. Since then their business has just become brighter and brighter, they were recently included in the prestigious Kamers markets in Pretoria, Jozi, and Cape Town, also with more than one feature in ELLE Deco and other home mags, their future looks, well, bright.

Lumen started with 2 friends sharing ideas on cool lights . The ideas turned into "lets see if we can make them". The organiser of Tierlantykies market, saw one of our lights on display in a friends house and invited us to be exhibitors at the market. With only one month to prepare we came up with a few designs, a name and a logo. The lights sold out at the market literally faster than they could make them, a triumph.

LuMen focus on the current trend of industrial design with exposed raw materials and beautiful use of copper. The elements they use, the brushed steel, copper, have also now been translated in delightful homeware items.

If there is one thing we like at the DI, it’s a local design business cracking it and LuMen is doing just that. Order yours from their web, or give them a call for a custom design. We’ve written about LuMen last year when they launched their first couple of lights.
