The Moving Ideas Competition, a collaboration between Transnet and the SABS Design Institute, kicked off on 15 September and entries will close on 15 October. This initiative offers an opportunity for entrepreneurs and businesses to bring their innovative new ideas to life – be it a product or a service. These ideas could result in business development support worth R400 000, terms and conditions apply.
The Moving Ideas Competition is only open to previously disadvantaged persons and black-owned companies, particularly encouraging women and people with disabilities to enter. So, if you are a qualifying entrepreneur, researcher, inventor, business and innovator, you are welcome to submit your innovative ideas that could contribute to innovation across Transnet’s operational divisions (freight rail, rail engineering, national ports authority, ports terminals and pipelines).
There are three ways to enter: Complete the entry form and drop it into a designated entry box, complete an online form at www.movingideas.co.za and submit, or download the .pdf version of the entry form at www.movingideas.co.za and complete it and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Should your application be successful, you will be invited for a panel interview and should you go through you will be invited to take part in an entrepreneurship assessment. Success in this assessment will enable you to participate in the business development support programme.
