Apple revealed the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at an event in the US (Cupertino, California) on Tuesday, 9 September 2014, and announced the details of the first launch wave in an accompanying press release.
The new range of smartphones from Apple will launch in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the UK from Friday, 19 September 2014.
New A8 processor. It uses a 20nm process and delivers 25 percent more CPU power and 50 percent better efficiency than the A7

You can get a 128GB iPhone 6. It’ll cost a bit, naturally, but is perfect for those who want to dump a lot of music or video on their phones.
There’s no 32GB version this year, though. You have to pick between 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models.
As always, South Africans are hoping for an October launch of the new iPhone, but we are likely to be part of one of the last launch waves that will happen in November.
